Welcome to sandramoore.co.uk the website for the work of artist and illustrator Sandra Moore.

Sandra has been working as an artist and illustrator since completing her degree in Fine Art at St Martin’s College, Lancaster in 2007. Prior to her degree course she spent a year studying Textile and Surface Design at the University of Bolton. Her images, both in colour and black and white, are noted for their attention to detail and this website showcases her work.

Starting out as a self taught artist Sandra has been accepting commissions for her work since her teens. She initially worked as an artist for a small cottage industry then went on to work as a supervisor for an art and craft based Government scheme. She worked for several years as a photographer and then helped run a small public relations and marketing company until deciding to return to developing her painting and drawing.

Sandra now lives and works as an artist and illustrator from her home studio situated in the picturesque village of Borwick in North Lancashire, she exhibits her work regularly, accepts commissions and reproduces her work as prints and on greeting cards.

Sandra is inspired by a love of drawing, the process of mark making and seeing shape, form and texture appear - a visual sensitivity. She uses various mediums including gouache, watercolour, pencil crayon and pen & ink.

Sandra is an elected member of The Society of Graphic Fine Art (SGFA), a member of The Art and Craft Guild of Lancashire and has been selected by The Cumberland Pencil Company to join their select group of artists (Derwent Artists' Database).

"Insight is accompanied by a sense of surprise. What has been closed is suddenly disclosed. It entails genuine perception, seeing anew.  He who thinks that we can see the same object twice has never seen."
Heschel (1907-1972)
